To achieve this goal, we provide a variety of information on support for students with disabilities in the field of education, especially in the field of higher education. By supporting students with disabilities and universities, and by enriching the educational and living environments of students with disabilities in institutions of higher education, we aim to realize a society that can guarantee "learning" as an activity of living, a society that recognizes all people as truly useful and can fully establish their status as such.
Our main activity is the publication of "University and College Guidebook for Students with Disabilities" a support guide for students with disabilities to take entrance examinations. This activity, the only one of its kind in Japan and one of its kind on an ongoing basis, has been highly evaluated and received the "Award of Excellence by the Minister of State for Special Missions, Cabinet Office" in the 2008 Barrier-Free Universal Design Promotion Meritorious Service Awards.

NSCSD is a non-profit and private organization managed by staffs
with disabilities with a various support and cooperation by many volunteers and
companies.
Could you imagine that there are students taking entrance exams in braille or
attending lectures with sign language interpreters? Could you imagine that there
are doctors on an electric wheelchair?
Unfortunately, not all universities and colleges are open their door for
students with disabilities. They have been rejected to take entrance exams on
the grounds of their mentally and physically disabilities.
Nationwide Support Center for students with Disabilities was established in
1999 to answer their various needs by peer counseling and providing information
based on data from original investigation about situations of universities and
colleges which accept students with disabilities or not.
